Having spent most of their short lived career on the verge of ‘something happening’ this female fronted Doom Metal band seemed literally Doomed to never fully achieve what they set out to. Originally released back in 1996 and deleted ever since, this set of melodic yet heavy Doom anthems has since received global cult status on the underground scene. Mourn played a very important part in the fruition British Doom Metal of the early 90’s. Often ridiculed for having a female singer in the days when bands such as Lacuna Coil and Nightwish would have been literally laughed at by the metal crowd, it’s strange how things manage to turn out all these years later. Who knows what would have been in store for the future if Mourn actually managed to stick around a few more years?
