ESOTERIC RECORDINGS continue with releases on their new REACTIVE imprint, (dedicated to reissues of classic German rock), with the first ever UK CD release of “Celestial Ocean” by BRAINTICKET. Formed in 1968 by Belgian born keyboard player JOEL VANDROOGENBROECK, the band released their debut album, the extreme psychedelic “Cottonwoodhill” in Germany in 1971. Breaking apart soon after, VANDROOGENBROECK formed a new incarnation of the group with drummer BARNEY PALM comprising Swiss and Italian musicians. “CELESTIAL OCEAN” was recorded in Rome in 1973 and was an impressive Psychedelic rock album inspired by the Egyptian Book of the Dead, later much sampled by European Trance DJs. “CELESTIAL OCEAN” is one of THE essential albums associated with the German Psych & Prog scene of the early 1970’s.
