Since releasing their first album in 1984 Overkill have consistently been at the forefront of the Metal scene irrespective of trends. Many of their contemporaries (Exodus, Death Angel, Violence) disbanded in the ‘90’s when grunge all but killed off Metal in the eyes of the mainstream. Through this period Overkill stuck to their guns recording consistently strong material, challenging themselves and their fans yet always staying true to the original aesthetic of the band. Fast-forward to 2005: Overkill has been reinvigorated by their recent signing to Sweden’s Regain roster (home to Danzig, Marduk, Behemoth and Samael) and a renaissance in the scene has created an environment in which Metal fans are baying for new material from the original thrash bands, following several successful reformations from the likes of DEATH ANGEL, EXODUS, NUCLEAR ASSAULT and the renewed interest in forerunners like Anthrax and Testament.
